There’s no going back. Employees now have access to everything social media in their pockets 24/7 – which includes when they are at work. Employers are finding themselves in a challenging position as they try to manage both employee productivity and the potential impact their employees’ social media activities have on their businesses. The quick answer is to create policies around social media use, but do they really work? Can you actually police every employee’s social media use every time they pull out their phone? Or perhaps more importantly, do you want to? Do you have measurable evidence that employee social media use is affecting their productivity? And if so, what can you do about it? Is there a happy medium? This workshop will look at the realities of social media in the workplace and how employers can minimize potentially negative impacts without adversely affecting productivity or morale.
