David Knapp-Fisher began his hospitality career as a dishwasher, and then spent the next thirty-five years working as a Chef, hotel manager and corporate consultant, finally as a successful restaurant/bar owner at Sun Peaks Ski Resort.
Through this unique career path David discovered the important role genuine human connection plays within leadership and business, and incorporated this into his work. In 2014 he decided to leave his traditional career path to focus on speaking and writing.
David has conducted leadership sessions across Canada for corporate hotels and small businesses alike; he’s a highly ranked keynote speaker for conferences including SOHO Victoria, Social Media Camp and Muscular Dystrophy Canada. His 2015 TEDx Stanley Park talk “Discipline or Regret – A Father’s Decision”received a standing ovation.
David also leads a popular 2,100 plus member community called Inspired Victoria; or can be found travelling the world in search an (a) exotic adventure (b) great cup of coffee or (c) epic hot beach/cold beer combination.
